was the amount by which the volume of housing construction increased in the first quarter of 2015 in comparison with last year's level.

The volume of rouble-denominated mortgages that were issued declined in January-February by 24%, while the interest rate came close to 15% per annum, reaching its highest point since September 2009.

Since the beginning of the year the average market price per square metre in roubles has also increased, but its growth has been more than three times lower than the rate of inflation.

These data are presented in a new issue of  ‘Comments on the State and Business’ by the HSE Centre of Development Institute.
