Delegations from Nanjing University and Renmin (People's) University of China have recently made their first visits to HSE University to explore potential areas of cooperation. The Chinese universities have expressed interest in initiating collaborative research projects, educational and academic mobility programmes.

The delegation of the East China Normal University has visited HSE University’s Moscow campus. The representatives of both academic institutions confirmed their mutual interest in developing cooperation. The East China Normal University was the first Chinese institution to cooperate with HSE University. This partnership has been developing for quite a while, with the first memorandum signed on June 30, 2011, followed by two agreements on student mobility.

An international team, including researchers from the Russian Academy of Sciences Institute for Information Transmission Problems, HSE University, and Shanghai Jiao Tong University, analysed the approaches used to optimise the data transfer rates of TCP and QUIC protocols in high-frequency wireless networks. According to the scientists, cross-layer solutions provide the highest gains in data transfer rates. The paper has been published in IEEE Communications Surveys & Tutorials, one of the most influential international journals in the field of telecommunications, boasting an impressive impact factor of 35.6.

HSE University in St Petersburg and University of Technology Malaysia (UTM) have launched a mirror lab in social entrepreneurship. The agreement was signed in Kuala Lumpur on November 9 during a meeting of the Joint Russian-Malaysian Commission on Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation. The document was signed by Anna Tyshetskaya, Director of HSE University-St Petersburg, and Rosli Illias, UTM Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research & Innovation.

On November 7, a representative office of HSE University opened in Indonesia. It is a new educational hub for students from the Asia-Pacific (APAC) who are planning to study in Russia, as well as for other Russian universities looking to establish ties with Indonesia. The representative office is based at Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS) in the city of Surabaya. Its operations are supervised by the HSE University campus in St Petersburg.

During a visit of the HSE delegation led by campus Director Anna Tyshetskaya to the Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore), the two universities agreed to create a mirror laboratory in the sphere of environmental behaviour, social well-being, and responsibility management.

The interrelation between the tasks of maintaining peace, preserving sovereignty, and ensuring gas supplies, the role of external players, Russia’s strategy in relation to the energy industries in Mediterranean countries in the changed economic and political context—these and other topics were discussed by the participants of the international scientific conference ‘Russia and the Greater Mediterranean 2023. HSE University is taking part in the Annual International Conference and Global Summit (AICGS-2023), which began in Phagwara, India, on October 30. This year’s topic of discussion was the new model of international cooperation in the field of sustainable development, as well as the prospects and global challenges faced by universities in the development of international ties today.
