Sangam Kumar Singh has come from India to do a Master’s in Big Data Systems at the HSE School of Business Informatics in Moscow. He has chosen HSE due to its high standing in global university rankings such as QS and the Times Higher Education ranking as well as its focus on research and innovation. Having started his career in engineering within telecommunication business and later moving onto R&D application and analytics in the same area, he was drawn to HSE’s programme because it combines business, informatics and analytics and equips its graduates with the skills and knowledge required by our modern economy and ever-changing market dynamics.

People have already submitted their applications to Master’s and Bachelor’s programmes at HSE University. So far, students from 113 countries have expressed their interest in studying at HSE University. For the 2019/2020 academic year, HSE University is offering 10 Bachelor’s programmes and 31 Master’s programmes taught entirely in English. The strongest applicants will be eligible for full or partial scholarships. For Master’s programmes, applications will be evaluated on the strength of the portfolios that can be submitted online via an applicant’s personal account on HSE University’s website.

Stefan Hanssen, a native of Switzerland, is currently a second-year student in HSE’s Master’s Programme 'Financial Analyst (CFA Institute University Affiliation Program)' offered by the HSE Banking Institute. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Business from HEC Lausanne (the Faculty of Business and Economics of the University of Lausanne), and decided to come to Moscow to deepen his knowledge of finance, economics, and business, and to expand his professional network.

The European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), one of the world's largest professional associations in the field of business and management, has awarded the Master’s Programme ‘Finance’ at the HSE in St. Petersburg an accreditation for a period of three years. This is the first Master’s programme in Russia to be accredited by the EFMD.

The new HSE Master’s programme  ‘Law of International Trade, Finance and Economic Integration’ invites applications for the coming 2019-2020 academic year. Qualified students who wish to specialize in international economic law and work in international environments, such as international organizations, international law firms, and international business corporations, are encouraged to apply.

Felipe Vaca Ramirez and Paco Arevalo Reyes, both from Ecuador, are second-year students in HSE’s Master’s programme in ‘Applied Statistics with Network Analysis’. Having heard about Russia’s rich mathematical tradition and the high academic standing of HSE, they both decided to study in Moscow despite how far away from home it is. Felipe and Paco share a background in economics, and the HSE programme’s focus on statistics and data and network analysis was a huge draw for them. Affordable tuition fees and multicultural environment were additional bonuses.

The Master's programme ‘International News Production’, which will begin admission in the summer of 2019, will focus on non-standard approaches to covering world events and teaching new media technologies. Vera Gribanova, a graduate student in the Master’s Programme 'Governance of Science, Technology and Innovation'  runs a radio programme about great scientific achievements called ‘Scientific Light’ on the radio station ‘Moscow Talks’ (Govorit Moskva). This year her radio show has received the prestigious prize ‘For Loyalty to Science’, which is awarded annually by the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
