HSE Graduates Can Receive Diplomas in Business Analysis
‘Informational Business Analytics’, a specialization of the Master’s Programme in Business Informatics, has been accredited by the International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA). Now all graduates of the programme have the opportunity to obtain a professional diploma in business analysis without the need for additional training.
Yandex and the Higher School of Economics Are Opening a Faculty of Computer Science
The Higher School of Economics and Yandex are opening a Faculty of Computer Science to train specialists in Theoretical and Applied Computer Science and Software Engineering. Former director of Yandex' educational programmes, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics Ivan Arzhantsev will be the dean of the new Faculty.
HSE Launches Two International Laboratories together with NES and Skolkovo
The HSE will study Russia’s economic history together with colleagues from the New Economic School (NES). The project with Skolkovo will address problems of law and social development in the contemporary world. International researchers will be involved in both laboratories.
New Master’s Programme in Sociology for Aspiring Young Researchers
A new English-taught master’s programme at the HSE, ‘International Master in Comparative Social Research’, will allow students to acquire the knowledge and skills that are in demand on the global market for social research. Applications are due by May 31, 2014.
New English-language Master's Programme in Big Data Systems
This year, the HSE Faculty of Business Informatics is launching an English-language master's programme in Big Data Systems. Scholarships are available, particularly for selected applicants who participate in the Olympiad, a competition that is open to students and graduates of university undergraduate and specialist courses from throughout Russia, the CIS, and the Baltic countries. The registration deadline for the Olympiad is March 12, 2014.

Vasily Klyucharev is the new Dean of the HSE Faculty of Psychology. His professional interests lie in neuroeconomics - more specifically, in the study of social influence, of the ways our decisions can be manipulated, what mechanisms are at play, and which parts of our brain are involved when someone tries to manipulate us. The Ambassador of Austria to Russia, Dr. Margot Klestil-Löffler, opened an Austrian Library at the HSE
Austria, country of paradoxes, very small geographically but very big culturally, home of Mozart, Freud and Rilke, is now linked to Nizhny Novgorod. On November 28th 2011, an Austrian Library was opened in the HSE building in Nizhny Novgorod, becoming the fourth Austrian cultural and educational center in Russia.
