This summer, the HSE Centre for the History and Sociology of World War II and Its Consequences was reorganized to become the HSE Institute for Advanced Soviet and Post-Soviet Studies. HSE Art and Design School to Present Its Programme at Ars Electronica Festival
From September 8 to 12, 2021, the HSE Art and Design School will present projects that examine the topics of online privacy, attention deficit disorder in the digital environment, the perception of the human body, and ‘dark ecology’. The programme includes performances, interactive art exhibitions and a roundtable discussion on the theoretical understanding of digital transformations of culture.
HSE Virtual Tour: Stroll Around the University from the Comfort of Your Home
In June 2021, HSE University and Times Higher Education (THE) held the online Young Universities Summit. It marked the first time the summit was held with support from a Russian university, and the choice of HSE University was no coincidence—it is the only Russian university to be included in THE’s Young University Rankings. Preparations for the forum included the creation of a virtual tour of several HSE buildings. ‘A Place in the Sun’: Youth Policy Forum to Take Place at HSE Campus in Perm
HSE University Rector Nikita Anisimov and Perm Krai Governor Dmitry Makhonin have agreed to organize an annual forum for experts, young professionals, university representatives and employers. Lasers, Magnetic Stimulation and a Robotic Arm: How Researchers at HSE University Study the Brain
The Institute for Cognitive Neuroscience (ICN) at HSE University has recently added state-of-the-art laboratory equipment to its range of tools for studying brain function. HSE University-Nizhny Novgorod to Launch Online Master of Computer Vision Programme
This year, HSE University in Nizhny Novgorod will launch its Master of Computer Vision programme on Coursera. The fully online programme has been developed by leading experts from Huawei, ItSeez3D, Intel, Harman, and Xperience AI. It will be taught in English and is open to applicants from all countries. The closing date for applications is August 16, 2021.
HSE University and Business Russia to Establish Bioeconomy Advisory Board
The decision to establish the Advisory Board was made during a meeting between the Investment Club of Business Russia (‘Delovaya Rossiya’, an all-Russia public organization), and the HSE University Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology, which launched a new Master’s Programme in Bioeconomics last year. The Advisory Board will include leading researchers, entrepreneurs, and investors working in the fields of biotechnology, environmental studies, and sustainable development. Sergey Nedoroslev, Business Russia Co-Chair, and Alexander Tonevitsky, Dean of the Faculty of Biology and Biotechnology at HSE University, will also serve as board members.
‘Up and Ahead’: Students in New Master's Programme to Study Psychometrics and Developmental Sciences
Enrolment is underway for the HSE Institute of Education’s new Master's programme, Science of Learning and Assessment, which was developed at the intersection of developmental science, advanced methods of neuroscience and psychometrics, and the theory and practice of testing and measurement. Students will learn to assess human development and adjust the learning process, relying on evidence-based approaches of neuroscience and current concepts of measuring skills, personality characteristics, competencies, and other complex constructs.
Nikita Anisimov Appointed Acting Rector of HSE University
On July 2, Mr Anisimov was introduced to the HSE Academic Council at its meeting at HSE campus in Pokrovka. Valery Falkov, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Yaroslav Kuzminov, HSE University Academic Supervisor, and HSE University President Alexander Shokhin took part in the meeting.
