The new online course 'Tell Me a Story: Storytelling for Russian Language Learners' has started on HSE's National Open Education Platform. The course author, Ksenia Demeneva, Associate Professor of the School of Literature and Intercultural Communication at the Faculty of Humanities at HSE University-Nizhny Novgorod, discusses how to capture your audience's attention and make you story unforgettable.

In 2022, HSE University became an expert centre for universities across the Luhansk People’s Republic in analytical, methodical, and legal fields. This will facilitate the seamless introduction of the republic’s universities into the Russian academic environment. Irina Karelina, Vice President of HSE University, talked to the HSE News Service about why HSE University decided to enter this project and how it complies with the university’s development strategy.

At the end of 2022, the HSE Library announced the launch of its new ‘Total Immersion’ project. Now, HSE University staff and students can take a tour of all of the library’s internal departments in the Pokrovka building. The HSE News Service took a tour with one of the first participants of the project.

HSE's School of Psychology is launching a new CPD programme ‘Plurilingual Intercultural Creative Keys’ (PICK). The programme was specially developed by the HSE Laboratory for Linguistic, Intercultural and Creative Competencies and is based on the innovative PICK training system designed to improve the skills of school teachers and tutors, as well as parents involved in teaching their children at home. The programme will be taught in Russian.

The first two weeks of these video lectures are available to try, free of charge. At the moment, the demand for specializations which are integrated into bachelor's and master's degree programmes at the university, is growing rapidly — this is the next stage of the educational trajectory after short-term online courses.

On December 19, HSE Rector Nikita Anisimov and Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Head of the Presidential Administration of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov met in the capital of Kyrgyzstan. The parties agreed to implement a joint project to train staff for the economic block of the government of the republic. As part of the project’s first stage, the Higher School of Economics of Kyrgyzstan will be created on the basis of the Training Center of the Ministry of Finance of Kyrgyzstan with full methodological support from HSE University. This was a new systematic step in expanding cooperation between HSE University and the Government of Kyrgyzstan.

More than 1,500 students currently study at HSE Online, including those from across Russia, Kazakhstan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Azerbaijan, India, China, Germany, and others. Yulia Remezova, Director for eLearning at HSE University, spoke to the HSE News Service about the success of the autumn enrolment session for the university’s digital programmes.

The Okko online cinema service and HSE University have signed a cooperation agreement on the creation and distribution of educational content. The first HSE project to be hosted on Okko is the LessON original video project.
