HSE University Launches New Master’s Programme in Chemistry
In 2023, the first Master's programme 'Chemistry of Molecular Systems and Materials' at the HSE Faculty of Chemistry will enrol students. Half of the study time will be devoted to research projects in the field of modern fundamental and applied research on the topics studied at five institutes of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Dmitrii Roitershtein, Academic Supervisor of the programme and Associate Professor at the Joint Department of Organic Chemistry with the RAS Zelinsky Institute of Organic Chemistry, spoke about the programme to the HSE News Service.
Vedomosti Becomes Industrial Partner of the HSE Institute of Media
HSE University and the business daily Vedomosti (Business News Media JSC) have signed a cooperation agreement within the framework of the Contemporary Journalism Master's programme. Students from the HSE Institute of Media will complete internships in the editorial office of Vedomosti. They will also study ‘Business Journalism Formats’, a course which will help consolidate their knowledge on the genres and formats of modern economic media.
HSE University Launches Project on Impact Media
On November 17, the official launch of the educational project ‘Impact Content Laboratory’ took place at HSE University on Pokrovsky Bulvar. The project was created by the HSE Faculty of Creative Industries together with the National Media Group, the largest private media holding in Russia, the ‘Third Sector’ Laboratory of Social Communications, and the ‘Headliners. HSE University Launches Linguatest, a Domestic Foreign-Language Testing System
Linguatest is available in two versions: academic and business. It can be taken in person at dedicated centres or online in proctored sessions. Registration in now open for the first exam sessions in Moscow in December 2022.
HSE University Opens Up Its Online Courses to Students and Staff
From October 24, students and staff of HSE University have free access to the university’s 200+ online courses through the SmartLMS system without the use of practical or assessment materials. The courses cover a wide range of topics, including film studies, psychology, machine learning, and game theory.
HSE University and National Media Group Sign Cooperation Agreement
HSE University and National Media Group—Russia’s largest private media holding—have agreed to jointly implement the Master’s in Media Management run by the university’s Institute of Media. The collaboration involves the joint development of courses for the Master’s programme and the provision of internships for students.
UNESCO Chair on Future Studies Opens at HSE University
In 2022, a HSE University department joined the ranks of UNESCO Futures Literacy Chairs. This builds on the work of the ISSEK International Research and Educational Foresight Centre, and the activity of the Human Capital Multidisciplinary Research Centre. Professor Alexander Sokolov, head of the new department, Director of the International Research and Educational Foresight Centre, and Deputy Director of HSE ISSEK, spoke about the establishment, aims and objectives of the UNESCO Chair on Future Studies.
HSE University and Northern Caucasus Resorts Open Registration for ‘Rediscovering Russia’ Expeditions
HSE University together with Northern Caucasus Resorts with the support of the ‘Russia – Land of Opportunity’ platform have launched a series of research and practical expeditions in the North Caucasus as part of the All-Russian project ‘Rediscovering Russia’. They aim to attract young researchers to find solutions to some of the urgent problems hindering the region’s economic development.
HSE University and Sberbank Charitable Foundation Sign Cooperation Agreement
On September 8th, 2022, HSE University signed a cooperation agreement with the Sberbank Charitable Foundation ‘Investment to the Future’ as part of the Moscow Financial Forum. The agreement was signed by Nikolay Berzon, Director of the Federal Methodology Centre for Financial Literacy in Primary and Secondary Education, and Pyotr Polozhevets, Executive Director of the Foundation.
The TikTok Tour: HSE University Students Popularise Finno-Ugric Culture
In early August, 30 students from all HSE University campuses set off on a journey as part of the Student Project Contest. Their project was called ‘T-T-T: A TikTok Tour of the Finno-Ugric Republics by Bus’. On their travels, the students learned about the local culture and made short educational and entertaining videos.
